With three months still to go, we are finally working our way through this year of turbulence, transformation, and tribulation. People have been posting memes trying to find humor in all this year has challenged us. They’re also wondering what these last months of the year will present us with.
Right now, we still have four planets retrograde as we enter October – Mars in Aries, Uranus in Taurus, Neptune in Pisces, and Pluto in Capricorn. Although Pluto will be going direct in October (see below), Mercury will then go retrograde in about the middle of the month (also see below).
As the months pass, as we approach the very end of the year, we will find ourselves with only one retrograde planet. Uranus in Taurus will still be retrograde when the Full Moon in Cancer occurs on December 30th. Things will be emotional as we see 2020 end and 2021 begin. At least the challenge of so many retrogrades will have come to a close so we can catch our breath to prepare for that new year.
In the middle of January, Uranus will finally go direct and, for about 2 weeks, we will be free of retrograde energies until Mercury goes retrograde in the sign of Aquarius on January 31st.
The most I want to say about all this right now is allow yourself to feel the release of the pressure of those retrograde energies coming at you as each planet begins to turn direct. Focus on the joy that can be had in the upcoming holidays and the hope that a coming new year can bring. Live, love, and laugh – a lot, for these are the things that bring good fortune to us.
In the meantime, there’s the first of two Full Moons happening in the month of October occurring on Thursday, October 1st at 5:05 p.m. EDT.
It hardly seems like it’s been two weeks since we had the New Moon, but here we are with the Sun in Libra and the Moon in Aries. It’s here that reason and perception are well blended producing a great amount of mental ability.
The will power is fairly strong with this energetic combination so those affected by it will find themselves active, independent, and even aggressive, at times, on the surface. At heart, people will be quiet, harmonious, and affectionate.
There may be a fondness for change, a quick appreciation of new ideas, with the possibility of impatience at times. There may also be a lack of perseverance when it comes to following through with those new ideas or that desire for change.
Moon in Aries reminds us that Aries is the sign that heralds the beginning of springtime, the ideal time to take a new look at life, relating past experiences to the present and looking with hope toward the future.
The very symbol representing Aries, the horns of a ram, represents a fork in the road of Life, so it’s very possible that some may find themselves facing a choice to go one way or another.
Being a fire sign, some may either experience their own flare of temper or that of another, but it quickly fizzles out. Excitement is created through enthusiasm. Impulsiveness can create later regrets. Definitely be enthusiastic and excited, but take a breath in the midst of those energies so you clearly wee where your spontaneity will land you.
This Full Moon has a lot to offer for those wanting to change if a balance can be found and maintained between all this energy and the harmony and balance each of us wants in our lives.
Pluto in Capricorn will be turning direct from its retrograde motion on Sunday, October 4th, at 9:32 a.m. EDT. It was April 25th when it went retrograde. At that time, I said:
“…Pluto in Capricorn turns retrograde bringing these same lessons back around again so you can see and evaluate your progress or possible regression. Spiritually, the lesson can be one of learning to ‘be in this world but not of it.’ That entails rising above the karma of our entire race.
“Sound like heavy stuff? It can be since Pluto is considered the guardian of the soul. Enlightenment and compassion allows an individual to attain spiritual knowledge and occult powers. This means gaining an awareness of truth and that is done through experience.”
Now that it;s turning direct again, not only the lessons that retrograde Pluto may have brought into your life, but that Pluto in Capricorn is about learning how to establish your individuality and authority within the culture or society that you live. This happens by learning how society works and this means learning related lessons in discipline, self-determination, and submission to a higher authority.
While Pluto may have turned direct, nine days later, Mercury in Scorpio turns retrograde on Tuesday, October 13th, at 9:05 p.m. EDT for about three weeks.
Whenever Mercury goes retrograde, we are being given the opportunity to observe how we communicate with others. This can come from tendencies we had in past lives that we wanted the chance to correct in this lifetime.
Our thought processes have a lot to do with how we communicate and a retrograde Mercury could be drawing our attention to a tendency to be impractical, rash, or impulsive. One or more of these traits could result in confusion and chaotic conditions in this life, which are repetitions of past lifetimes.
With Mercury in Scorpio, there is a capability to rediscover what was buried in the past, whether we’re talking about this life or a past one. The conscious mind will work best when it’s focused on the spiritual journey.
The energy of this placement in Scorpio can also allow a person to develop a strong desire to move ahead in areas as yet unknown. Thus, the chance for healing and/or transmutation, traits of Scorpio, become available to any person tapping into these energies.
That’s all for now. I hope as the year continues to move towards its closing, you will find peace, joy, and many reasons to be both hopeful and grateful.
