Retrograde Planets 2

I know I’ve written about retrograde planets before, but I hope, dear reader, that you will forgive me as I discuss them again.

You see, there’s so much misunderstanding going on right now about how they should be viewed that it’s creating way too much fear and apprehension where there should be intrigue and enthusiasm about the possibilities.

It used to be people would just freak when Mercury would go retrograde. Not any more. That dread, anxiety, and panic has now spread to all the planets!

I recently saw some posts on Facebook stating we should all be warned there will be six planets going retrograde on August 7th! The truth is there were four planets retrograde already and then Mars went retrograde on June 26th, making five. Before Uranus goes retrograde on August 7th, Jupiter will turn direct on July 10th, leaving only four planets retrograde again until Mercury goes retrograde on July 26th. Then we have five planets retrograde until August 7th when Uranus makes it six.

My point here is that, especially at this time of the year, there are often multiple planets retrograde. We live our lives with planets retrograde all the time.

The reality of retrogrades are, astronomically, an illusion. No planet ever goes backward. The appearance of a planet’s retrograde motion is caused by the Earth gaining ground and passing that planet in its orbit around the Sun.

Astrologically, retrograde planets are meant to send the energy of that planet, in whatever sign it occupies at the time, back to us so we have an opportunity to work with that energy. It could bring us karmic lessons from other lifetimes or it could present us with an opportunity to work on our challenges in this lifetime.

I have watched people post how the retrograde energy of a planet or planets is the reason for their lives being crappy. Sorry, folks. The energy of the planets can’t make anyone’s life crappy without their choice of how to use it or ignore it. No planet is placing a curse on you through its retrograde motion.

I’m really at a loss as to how to get the message through to people that retrograde planets, whether it’s Mercury or any other, are not something to dread but something to look forward to as opportunities to improve ones life, if you so choose.

There’s really enough fear in the world today. The direction a planet is moving shouldn’t even be considered as something to fear or dread. Use that energy to make your life better. You’ll be glad you did!

Full Moon in Capricorn 2

In the meantime, there’s a Full Moon coming on Wednesday, June 28th at 0:53 a.m. EDT that could help with changing things in your life.

The Moon will be in Capricorn and the Sun will be in Cancer. The combination of these energies and the Full Moon makes it good for removing obstacles in your life, especially those that seem to be blocking your flow of abundance.

Capricorn is very practical and can be ambitious, especially where business is concerned. The idea is to avoid letting these heavy energies drag you into any kind of moodiness or negativity.

With the Sun in Cancer, some may find it difficult to express their internal feelings, but if you want to remove those blocks in your life, you have to see the practicality in speaking your truth – out loud – even if your voice shakes. Otherwise, you may open yourself to allowing Moon in Capricorn to cause problems and complications where your emotions are concerned. More obstacles instead of less.

So focus on the positive this Full Moon and see yourself removing all the obstacles that block you in your journey through this life.

Mercury in Leo

When Mercury moves into Leo on Friday, June 29th at 1:17 a.m. EDT, it becomes an excellent combination of energies. Mercury rules the mind, while Leo rules the heart. What more could you ask for?

This is a great combination for planning and purpose that has continuity. It lends leadership qualities and executive ability. It also lends mental self-confidence for tackling and solving problems.

The only drawbacks to this placement are becoming a bit boastful and also becoming angry when you don’t get your own way. Other than that, it has a lot of positive energies to offer anyone who chooses to tap into them.

Venus in Virgo

Venus, the planet of love, enters Virgo on Monday, July 9th at 10:32 p.m. EDT. It is here that those influenced by these energies may find themselves over-analyzing their emotions. They may even become to critical of those they love and this could make those loved ones feel self-conscious and inhibited.

Venus in Virgo does make one capable of sympathy and causes a desire to be helpful to the sick. The ability to combine reason with the emotions allows those affected by these energies to deal with the psychological problems that they or others have through a methodical, analytical way of investigation.

People can become fastidious about manners, personal hygiene, and even personal appearance, not only for themselves but others as well.

With Venus, the planet of the arts and creativeness, in Mercury-ruled Virgo, this is an excellent time for writers, actors, lawyers, and speakers. These energies stimulate emotions, even if we only understand them intellectually but don’t feel them. So use this time to create. It will help you with the details.

Jupiter in Scorpio

Jupiter in Scorpio has been retrograde since March 9th, offering us plenty of time to deal with the discovery of our truth.

The retrograde motion of Jupiter had the potential to help us understand our personal truth on a deeper level. This may create both a heaven and a hell for some as they come to realize that the time has come to rise above the lower self which has been restricting us in our current life.

And, now, on Tuesday, July 10th, it will turn direct again at 1:04 p.m. EDT., calling to us to take a look at both our values and beliefs, making clear within our minds what we truly do believe and value. It may very well be time to decide what holds promise and what is no longer useful and maybe even harmful. Time to let go.

In order to improve our situations, we must know our motives. To know our motives, we must consciously take account of our beliefs and values. It really is time to bring the unconscious into our consciousness so that we may cast off what is merely debris.

Jupiter in Scorpio energies ask us to make a sincere quest for truth and, no matter the pain, let go of that which no longer serves us. No matter what, with the direct motion of this planet, it is time to let the world know where we stand.

Astrological Banner 6

Okay, that’s it for now. I would remind you once again, to use the energies of the planets, the signs they are placed in, and even their retrograde motion to better your existence and make your journey through this incarnation a little easier.
