I know there are many of you who tense up whenever you hear a planet is going retrograde, especially Mercury, so I imagine you were totally thrilled when Mercury went direct on Saturday, February 20th.
Well, I have some really good news for you. Not only was Mercury the last of the retrogrades to turn direct, but there won’t be another planet to turn retrograde until April 27th. Yes, you read that right – April 27th!
I think just about everyone’s read or heard the saying, “We are spiritual beings having a physical experience.” No matter what religious/spiritual path you follow, something must be saying to you that it has to be true. This can’t be all there is.
For that reason, from that spiritual perspective, we should embrace, rather than fear, those times when the planets go retrograde. (Yeah, I can hear some of you questioning my sanity.) The truth is that the energy from those retrogrades helps us to do the work we planned for this lifetime. Call them wake-up calls or lessons or whatever you want, through the challenges or blessings the bring, they bring us energetically what is needed to move ourselves further down the path on our journey “home.”
If you could allow yourself to move from any fear you have of the planets going retrograde to a new perspective of possible opportunities for improvement of yourself and your life when they do go retrograde, you might find that Life is sending you signals of where work needs doing. Truly, they don’t come to curse you. The come to help you bless yourself.
So, when Pluto in Capricorn goes retrograde on Tuesday, April 27th at 4:04 p.m. EST, try a new approach and look at it with anticipation.
After all, Pluto is about transformation, regeneration, rebirth, and reflection. The fact that it remains retrograde longer than the other planets offers us the opportunity to really take a look at our lives, understand the choices we’ve made and the ones we could now make, and, in other words, face our biggest challenges boldly.
Capricorn is ruled by Saturn, known to some as the stern teacher, a karmic planet. By taking the time to really scrutinize your present life circumstances, you may discover patterns that you’ve been repeating. That could be indicative of the repetition of past life habits and help you realize it’s time to “scratch the record” or, said another way, it’s time to do things differently – maybe more differently than you’ve ever thought of doing them.
Retrograde energies offer you the opportunity to move out of your comfort zone, challenge yourself to feel the fear and do it anyway, an thus change your life in ways you never dreamed possible.
While that sounds inspiring, it won’t be happening for a while. In the meantime, we have a Full Moon in Virgo happening on Saturday, February 27th at 3:17 a.m. EST. With the Sun in the opposing sign of Pisces, the energy of this Full Moon can help you see things more clearly.
Moon in Virgo, by itself, is about being exceedingly aware of details. Its keywords are meticulous, analytical, fastidious, orderly. If it requires painstaking attention, then Moon in Virgo is there to help you. Additionally, with the Sun in Pisces, the intuition is active. The message here is listen to your gut, but look at the details as well.
Mercury is the natural ruler of Virgo so be sure to look closely at all forms of communication, both those you receive and those you give. Ones that have to do with any form of business may hold important messages for your consideration.
With the energy of the Full Moon, this is a good time to “Spring” clean your life of anything or anyone that no longer truly serves a purpose for you. Out with the old to make room for some new people, situations and things to present themselves to you.
The only other planet making a move at this time is Mars. It will be entering Gemini on Wednesday, March 3rd at 10:30 p.m. EST. This can cause a desire to do a lot of traveling. There’s also the possibility of constantly reading or taking courses. It can also give a vivid imagination.
The energy here is primarily mental. The physical energy can be erratic at this time. Sexually, people may find themselves fluctuating; very involved one minute and then totally superficial the next. People can be turned on by intellect because they want a partner to be able to keep up with them both mentally and physically.
There’s great restlessness with this placement. That can cause many changes of occupation or working several jobs at one time.
This is a time when those affected by the energies of this placement may find themselves hoping for the experience of more variety in their action options. The last life could have been spent in some sort of monotonous job or task that left little time for anything else. There’s also the possibility of having been in an environment where it was hard, if not impossible to have control over ones own life direction due to any number of factors.
Mars in Gemini is all about mental and physical activity, and lots of it. If Life has become humdrum, this may be the energy you’ve been waiting for.
