Journey Log

Where does one begin a journey? With a single step, so they say. When you’re exploring and searching, sometimes there are a number of “first steps”. The journey becomes one where you first go in this direction and then that, returning to “home base” with your discoveries.

I believe my exploring and searching started very early in my life.  As I look back, after years of interacting with other people, I find that what I considered to  be a normal inquisitive mind might have been more unique than I originally believed.  Not everyone questioned as much as I did – and still do.  Not everyone found a thread and pulled on it or followed it as avidly as I seem to do.  When I discovered my difference in approaching life, it made me question if there was something “wrong” with me.  I gradually came to the conclusion that it was more that I was different than most – not wrong or right, not worse or better, just somewhat different.

Revealed by that backward glance, it seems I knew that there was a puzzle to be solved and I needed to examine life and its many pieces and see how it all fit together.

Obviously, that made me curious and open to what life contained – both visible and invisible.  For some, this would have become a keen interest in some field of science.  For me, it became an interest in all that science couldn’t prove yet: astrology, numerology, reincarnation, life after death, magick, ESP, UFOs, and the list goes on.  If not from a natural attraction to it, perhaps it was becasue of several extraordinary happenings in my youth.  Perhaps it was a combination of both.

What I do know is the journey, thus far, has been very interesting and, although I cannot concretely prove any of it,  some of the pieces have come together.

So, our journey begins.  Starting where I started may only bore you, so I’ve decided to begin with something that, to me, holds it all together – energy.

I started reading works by Charles Darwin and Albert Einstein when I was barely out of elementary school.  I was drawn to them, not knowing why.  I was fascinated by their words and ideas.  In later life, after some of the pieces had begun to fit together, I got a clue.

Thanks to scientists and others like Albert Einstein, we have been shown that, contrary to the way things appear to us, there is nothing in our physical reality that is really solid.  Everything is composed of energy in varying rates of vibration.  Houses, furniture, cars, animals, and, yes, even the human body only appear to be solid.  The real reality of all this is that the physical world is an illusion.

The signposts in this part of our journey are the words “energy” and “vibration”.  These two words will start to reveal other paths to explore and how they are connected to this journey we have undertaken.

It has always been in my nature to see what the dictionary says about a particular word.  Thus, when you look up the word energy you find many definitions, depending on how the word is being used, most of which have meaning for us here:

1. Vigor, or intensity of action, expression, or utterance.

2. Capacity or tendency for vigorous action.

3. Inherent power to produce an effect.

4. Power forcefully and effectively exercised.

5. (Physics) The capacity for doing work and for overcoming inertia.

If you take a moment to think about it, that’s really pretty all-encompassing!  Any word we utter, any action we take, the natural forces of the Earth such as gravity – all these things, and more, are energy.

The word “vibration” is best first taken as “vibrate” which, at its essence, simply means: to move back and forth rapidly; quiver.

Vibration, for our purpose on this journey, means from a standpoint of physics:

1. A periodic, usually rapid oscillatory motion of an elastic or rigid body suddenly released frm tension.

2. Any physical process characterized by cyclic variations in amplitude, intensity or the like, as wave motion or an electric field.

3. A single complete oscillation.

OMG! The Universe and all that’s in it is moving (vibrating) constantly!  Everything in it, no matter how it appears, isn’t the solid, boring way we’ve been taught!

Some of you may already be aware of this, but not everyone is.  Most are so caught up in everyday life, that thinking outside of their own particular “box” never would occur to them.  I was there once.  Then I asked the question, “Is this all there is?”

I was already interested in UFOs, ESP and the spirit world.  It was, however, more of a curiosity and distraction.  It was a way to escape the humdrum of everyday life.  That question, though, caused me to start a search…

But that’s a tale for another time.

Until then, rest a spell and give some thought to where our quest has taken us thus far…I’ll be back soon.
