The next week, in particular, is filled with intensity and change. It begins with a New Moon which means the Moon and Sun are both in the same sign – Scorpio – followed by Mercury in Scorpio going retrograde around midday on Halloween, which is known to some as the Witches’ New Year, followed by Venus entering Sagittarius on November 1st and being capped off by the end of Daylight Savings Time at 2 a.m. EDT on November 3rd.
Although I’ll go into more detail below, I think you can see an energetic picture forming that spells a week filled with c-h-a-n-g-e. If there ever was a time when you or the Universe wanted to bring some things to a close while beginning some others, this would be it.
Spiritually, this is a time when the Veil between the worlds is at its thinnest making it even easier to get guidance from the realm of Spirit. Which could come in handy with all the energies of passion, desire, and change happening. Ask for guidance and direction, listen carefully and watch intently so you may get the signs, omens, and messages you need to know what, if anything, should end and what, if anything, should begin. Timing is everything.
Let’s begin with that New Moon that’s happening on Sunday, October 27th at 11:38 p.m. EDT. Remember, both the Moon and Sun will be in Scorpio.
This is a combination that gives much independence and self-reliance. Strangely, there is also a tendency to override, domineer, and master others.
Scorpio is a sign of intensity. It creates strong passions, desires, and emotions. Oh, it also gives a phenomenal memory as well.
There’s a tremendous amoun of determination and will power available with this New Moon. The trick is to use it constructively. Once you conceive of an idea, these energies can be tapped to move forward with determination until you have transformed your life to fit that idea.
The obstacles brought by this placement can be secrecy, suspicion, and even jealousy. This can be caused by heightened sensitivity couple with intensified emotions. Awareness with help you to avoid impatience and moodiness. Just don’t allow yourself to take anything personally.
Scorpio energies are about transformation and regeneration. What better energies for a New Moon?
At 11:42 a.m. EDT on Thursday, October 31st, Mercury in Scorpio will begin its retrograde stage bringing energies that allow us to review the past and even rediscover that which has been buried in the depths of ourselves. This then allows us to move ahead into areas as yet unknown to us.
This retrograde energy is also about realizing we are fully capable of solving our own problems. This can make a person to tend to be on the silent side as we work to discover the solution that will resolve the problem.
For some, this placement can be pointing to a past life experience of being separated from a loved one at a young age. In this life, that can can make it possible for a person to stand strongly now, strengthening ones individuality.
The conscious mind will work best when focused on the spiritual journey of the current life during this retrograde period of Mercury in Scoprio.
While others may “trick or treat,” those who walk the path of Wicca/Witchcraft will be celebrating the holiday of Samhain or Hallowmas on Thursday, October 31st. This is the Witches’ New Year when the last harvest was complete and a time of “death” took over in Nature. It’s a time of introspection, rest, and patience. The Sun is still waning but will be reborn again at the Winter Solstice, a mere seven weeks away.
Venus heads into Sagittarius on Friday, November 1st, at 4:25 p.m. EDT. It is here that love can become like a shooting star – brilliant but impermanent. Those who are affected by these energies may appear cold or fickle. The truth of the matter is that their attention span in romance is fleeting and temporary.
Love with them means they must remain absolutely free. Tying them down would cause them to become bored and to find the closest route of escape.
With Jupiter being the ruler of Sagittarius, ones taste in art and décor may turn to being more lavish and flamboyant in color. Classical forms of art and music may become attractive or there may be an attraction to art that has a religious or philosophical motif.
Others may find they get great satisfaction form outdoor sports and games such as horseback riding or skiing.
Venus in Sagittarius brings energies that want to be expressed in adventure, movement, and spontaneity.
Once more that time has arrived where we “fall back” where our clocks are concerned. Don’t forget that the time change happens on Sunday, November 3rd at 2 a.m. EDT (which becomes 1 a.m. EST).
Wishing you all a wonderful two weeks of adventure and possible change!
