I am a light-worker, an energy worker, a channel to help others heal. That sometimes makes it very difficult in a world, and especially in this country, where the predominant energies appear to be fear, anger and hatred. In these times, it’s important for people like me, and people in general, to be aware of where they place their focus.
What we focus on attunes our energies to the energies of the object of our focus and thus attracts more of the same to us. Now, if you happen to be focusing on love or healing or something else that falls into the category of “positive” thinking, this can produce some awesome, gratifying manifestations. On the other hand, if you choose to focus on tragedy, sorrow, loss, misery, illness, etc. then what you will draw to you is more of the same – spiraling you further and further into those same vibrations.
The Universe acts on the Law of Attraction to answer our requests, even when we are unaware we are making a request. It goes by vibration, not words. Thought is the vehicle, emotion is the fuel. If your thoughts are focused on all that’s wrong and it makes you sad, angry, or even causes hate within you, you’ve just sent a message to the Universe that you want more of the same.
The mistake we humans often make is to focus on the problem instead of the solution. It often comes to my mind what Mother Teresa once said when asked if she would attend an anti-war rally. I don’t remember her exact words, but what she said in essence was she wouldn’t put her energies toward something she was against – ask her to come to a peace rally and she’d be there.
More of us need to make a practice and habit of taking that kind of position as to where we place our energies. No matter what it is, if we focus on the problem and allow out thoughts and emotions to be matched to the energies of the problem, we will only manifest more of the same. Instead, we need to ask ourselves what the solution or solutions might be to the problem and focus on that, allowing our thoughts and emotions be matched to a positive outcome.
Before anyone accuses me of being some kind of Pollyanna, I’m not. I see things for exactly what they are and I don’t avoid looking at them. No one will ever be able to accuse me of not knowing or admitting to the tragedies and horrors that we face everyday in our world and in our country. I just don’t focus on them. I see where the energies have taken us (immediately sending Love and healing energies to those affected by what’s happened) and then ask myself what the solution might be. That’s where I place my attention, my focus.
Jimi Hendrix once said, “When the power of Love overcomes the love of Power the world will know Peace.” When enough of us find it within ourselves to focus on what is positive, whether that’s unconditional Love, peace itself, or something else, and not get sucked into the drama of the negative that is going on around us, things will begin to change for the better. To quote Marianne Williamson, “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.”
From my perspective, the time has arrived for us to push past all our fears, including the ones concerning our own power, and start using that power to change our lives and our world. It’s no myth or fable that what each of us does and feels ripples out and creates change. It’s time to make that ripple a tsunami by joining together in the most positive and powerful focus we can manage on a daily basis. That’s a force that can overcome anything.
So, here we are. It would appear that the emotions and energies that are predominant right now are sending us on a course of self-destruction. We have a choice. We always have a choice. It doesn’t even require you joining a group or movement. It really doesn’t even require you to leave your home if you would rather not. All that choice asks of you is to change what you’re focusing on; to match your thoughts, feelings, and vibrations to a positive solution; to see, in your mind’s eye, the positive outcome you’d really like to see manifest in your life, in our country, or in our world.
It may not be easy, at first. Let’s face it, many of us have allowed ourselves to easily be dragged into the negative drama of these situations. The fact remains, we can do it. Whether we do it alone or with others, it will still begin to bring positive change as long as we do it.
We are spiritual beings created from the same substance as the stars and planets. We are eternal and we are powerful. We just need to choose to take an active part in the creation of the reality we are now living in through the use of the gifts we all have within us. We can each make a difference. We can each help create a world filled with more love, joy, and peace rather than hatred, anger, and violence. The choice is ours. It always has been. What do you choose?
