Astrological Musings & More

Retrograde Planets 2

When you’ve been writing about astrology as long as I have, it sometimes becomes difficult to find something to write about that will be interesting and informative to ones readers. After all, I’ve covered a lot of topics in that time.

So here I sit, with Mercury just having gone retrograde, wondering what it is that you might want to hear about and finding myself quite puzzled as to what the answer might be.

It could just be that this Mercury retrograde, that happens to be in Pisces, is occurring in my first house, as is the New Moon – again in Pisces with the Sun in Pisces as well – that has me feeling confused and lost in my attempt at writing something worthwhile at this time.

Some of the clients I have had, over the years, have asked me why I charge what I do and why I give such a detailed written definition for their charts. This is in comparison to online charts that give you little, sometimes only the chart map, for the money you pay.

I believe getting your natal chart done is an important action to take. When you decide to have it done, it should be comprehensive and give you a lot to think about. To me, this can’t be done in 10 or even 30 pages. That chart needs dissecting with an explanation for each piece it contains.

Now I will admit, I don’t put the pieces together for you in a summary of any kind. Being such a personal thing, I believe putting that puzzle together is work only you can do through reading, note-taking, and lots of contemplation. I do provide 3 hours of free consultation, but first you have to read the chart, think about it, and write down questions about the parts that need further explanation so you may understand them better. In other words, I want you to get up close and personal with your own chart so we can have an intelligent conversation about it.

I know there are astrologers who cast the map and then offer an oral explanation of it to their clients, either in person or recorded. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. It’s just not my style nor my perspective on how to get a client involved in their own energies. Like doctors and other professionals, you have to find the astrologer that you connect with in order to gain the most from the experience.

If you find yourself wanting to learn more about what I do and how my style of natal astrology might be of help to you, please feel free to contact me at: or message me on Facebook.  (Hey! Look at me! I manage to write something after all.)

These next two weeks are sort of quiet astrologically. Everything that’s going to happen, happens tomorrow, March 6th.

Uranus in Taurus

First, we have Uranus moving into Taurus on Wednesday, March 6th, at 3:35 a.m. EST. This positioning speaks to the use of money and resources in new and original ways, especially where humanitarianism is concerned.

The wish is to be practical and the energy of this placement provides tremendous determination and fixity of purpose. However, Uranus is in its fall in Taurus, so the attachment to material objects can be limiting in ones urge for freedom. For example, the attachment to home and family can dampen ones individual expression.

In Taurus, Uranus can give unusual artistic and musical talent. Intuition comes naturally and there is opportunity to become adept in occultism. There’s a lot of energy here and the will to do is huge.

A lot can be accomplished while Uranus transits Taurus, if we are willing and determined to use its energies to our best purpose.

New Moon in Pisces

The New Moon happens next on Wednesday at 11:04 a.m. EST. With the Sun and Moon both in the sign of Pisces, the imagination is active and the intuition is strong. The trick will be not to fall into the trap of becoming morbid in your thinking and feeling. If you find this happening, guide yourself toward positive thinking or talk to someone who can help you to do that. Positive thought combined with intuition can meet any challenge successfully.

Generally speaking Pisces is sympathetic, good-natured, romantic, and affectionate. Psychic experiences can manifest rather easily, as can the imagination. When funneled into the creation of art, music, or literature, the results can be amazing – truly inspired.

There can be a restlessness or feeling of anxiousness that may cause a desire for change or travel. Taking care of your body, mind, and spirit is always important, but especially now.

The basic instinct of Pisces is to do good for others and as many others as possible. Just remember to do good for yourself as well. When that balance is kept, unexpected success in some form of creative arts, as well as other professions, can be expected.

This New Moon, when coupled with Mercury in Pisces (even though retrograde) and Neptune in Pisces, offers huge possibilities where the spiritual side of our lives and being are concerned. You may find this to be a time when you can easily touch and remember past lives and how they relate to your current life and situation. There is important reason to pay attention to your intuition now.

DST - Spring

The final piece that I want to mention is that Daylight Savings Time will be happening on Sunday, March 10th at 2 a.m. EST.

Although this isn’t an astrological event, it can through our energies for a loop for a while as we try to readjust ourselves to this time change. So, don’t forget to set your clocks ahead an hour – the external and internal ones both!

See you in two weeks with more astrological updates!
