We made it to 2019! A new year with many opportunities for new beginnings and infinite possibilities for where our journeys made lead us.
One thing each of us share is the vibration of this new year. It’s called a Universal Year and it runs from January 1st through December 31st of each year. You find that number, that Universal Year, by adding all the digits in the current year – 2+0+1+9 = 12 – and then reducing it to a single digit – 1+2 = 3.
We’ll all be working with the vibration of the number 3, on some level. This is a really nice, pleasant vibration. It’s also one of self-expression. It’s a social vibration that can lead to many new friends. It’s just filled with inspiration and kindness.
It is here we must learn self-expression and to give freely of the self. To do this, however, some of us will find we have to overcome jealousy, which is one of the biggest dangers to reaching the goal of self-expression. It causes us to shut ourselves off and become possessive of others, stifling freedom and self-expression.
Keywords to this energy are social, outgoing, out-giving, creative. Where “creative” is concerned, it will cause some to be very expressive in the arts with a greater concern with the object being created rather than what that creation may bring us, i.e., finances, notoriety, etc.
Any problems created by the vibrations of 3 are slight and easy to overcome. Bottom line: This is a year that can be very pleasant, if we attune to its vibration.
Speaking of new beginnings in this new year, we have a New Moon in the sign of Capricorn happening on Saturday, January 5th, at 8:28 p.m. EST.
This isn’t just any New Moon though, there’s a partial solar eclipse happening as well. Even though that eclipse will only be seen in Asia, you know we will be able to feel the energies of it, no matter where we are on Earth. That makes it a good time to “eclipse” the power (Sun) of anything or anyone that we’ve allowed to be an obstacle to our progress.
Saturn rules the sign Capricorn which can explain why, with the Sun and the Moon both in this sign now, we may feel down, turn inward, and/or feel lonely. That’s the heaviness of the planet. After all, the metal for Saturn is lead.
That doesn’t mean you have to stay there. Capricorn is also persistent, although plodding. Moving forward at any pace is still forward motion! So use some of the other traits of Capricorn – determination, perseverance, patience, practicality, and ambition – to move yourself in the direction of your hopes and dreams.
Uranus is one of the few remaining retrograde planets from 2018. It’s in the sign of Aries right now and will be turning direct on Sunday, January 6th, at 3:26 p.m. EST.
While it was retrograde, Uranus in Aries’ energies were there for us to learn about our uniqueness, our individuality, and our independence. It was there for us to learn about spontaneity.
Now, with it moving forward once more, we have the opportunity to blaze trails where we, and perhaps others, have never gone before. It becomes important for each of us to have the freedom to act in our own way. It’s time to be courageous, daring, and resourceful.
For some, if they resist their own natures or have others try to suppress them, they can have fits of temper and be overly impulsive. The desire for change and adventure is strong and should be paid attention to, even if others would have you do otherwise. Time to speak up for yourself, even if your voice shakes.
One would think that when Venus enters a fire sign it would be filled with passion and warmth, but such is not the case. When Venus enters Sagittarius on Monday, January 7th, at 6:19 a.m. EST, love becomes more like a shooting star, and impermanent.
In love, this energy will cause those affected by it to need complete freedom. Conventional romance will not appeal to them. Anyone who tries to tie them down would see them escape as soon as possible. Also, anyone gross or earthy will not appeal to them.
It does bring a lavishness in taste to art and decor to the point, if affordable, of a royal, palatial atmosphere. Religious art and music can deeply affect people feeling these energies. Religious ceremony and pageantry will be appealing.
Satisfaction may be found in outdoor games and sports, such as horseback riding or skiing as an example.
This can be a very fun, adventurous time if one remembers that romance found now may be impermanent.
When the Sun begins its yearly transit through the sign of Aquarius on Sunday, January 20th, at 4:00 a.m. EST, an energy that is unique becomes available for us all to use.
There was a time when Aquarius was considered to be ruled by Saturn and then, with the discovery of Uranus in 1781, the rulership of Aquarius was handed over to the eccentric revolutionary of the galaxy and things began to change.
That’s kind of how Aquarius affects us, if we allow it. It allows us to look at things from a whole different perspective – cocking our heads to the right or left or even standing on our heads for a different view of things. Here is where love becomes Universal rather than personal. In fact, there are those born with a strong Aquarian influence in their charts ( Sun or Ascendant) who have been accused of being cold. That’s really not the case at all. Aquarius loves everyone and just wishes to remain unencumbered to do so.
Rainbows, bright stripes or checks, tie dyes, these are all representative of the kind of energies Aquarius brings to us. Progressive, original, inventive, and unconventional are also very good descriptions of this energy.
For individuals who tap into this energy, you may find you want your freedom without restrictions in one or more areas of your life. Being you, rather than what someone else wants you to be, can become very important for you right now. You are truly one of a kind. Time to celebrate that uniqueness!
One other thing. When the Sun is in Aquarius, definitely prepare for the unexpected. That’s not necessarily a bad thing. Something or someone you’ve been waiting for may suddenly appear out of nowhere in the most unusual way.
Aquarius rules the ankles, circulation and the electrical forces in your body, along with the nervous system. It’s advisable to do whatever energy work you may do, on a regular basis during this transit to avoid imbalance, illness, or injury in any of these areas.
We’re quickly moving through time, space, and the Winter. Have a great two weeks! See you soon.
