I wanted to remind everyone that the contest I started on October 1st, to win a free astrology chart, is still accepting entries until 11:59 p.m. EDT on October 31, 2018.
If you would like to win a chart for yourself or someone else, send me your name and the information for the chart you would like to win (exact birth date, birth time, and birth place) to my email address – Durga1974@aol.com – and put “Astrology Contest” in the subject line.
1st Place Prize – One (1) Free Natal Astrology chart. 2nd Place Prize – One Natal Astrology chart for $75 (that’s half price)
3rd Place Prize – One Natal Astrology chart for $100 (that’s $50 off the regular price)
All others who enter will get $25 off any one chart they choose to order. It’s my way of saying, “Thank you!” for taking the time to enter.
Again, contest entries will be accepted until 11:59 p.m. EDT on October 31, 2018. On November 1st, I draw the winning names and announce them on Twitter and Facebook, sending an email to all the winners to let them know what they have won.
Please share with others who may be interested! I can’t wait to see whose chart I will be doing for free!
When the Sun moves into Scorpio on Tuesday, October 23rd at 7:23 a.m. EDT, the energies become intense. Those born under this sign, and those affected by these energies, may find themselves having intense desires and passions. There can be an unstable quality to all that is felt because, after all, this is a water sign and water represents the emotions.
The energies of Scorpio carry with them the qualities of being imaginative, persistent, and determined, but also include the negative traits of being resentful, stubborn, secretive, suspicious, and jealous. Your awareness should be on how you tap into these energies and use them. The choice, as always, is yours.
What’s really interesting about Scorpio is its hierarchy of symbols. As those born under the sign, of heavily influenced by it, ascend to higher levels of consciousness and being, they can go from being the scorpion or serpent, to being the soaring eagle, and, finally, reaching the highest level of Scorpio, the phoenix who is consumed in its own fire to arise once again from the ashes of that fire.
Scorpio is about regeneration, transformation, and healing. Sometimes to achieve these things, it is necessary to experience Life with great depth and intensity in all its many facets.
To all those celebrating a birthday during this transit…
The next day, Wednesday, October 24th, there’s a Full Moon in Taurus happening at 10:33 a.m. EDT. This can be very intense.
While both Scorpio and Taurus can be stubborn, it’s good to remember that they can also be determined and persevere. The key is to not be stubborn just for stubborn’s sake. To know what you want, and be determined to get it, is different from “staying the course” just because you fear the unknown. Always be willing to step back and take an honest look at your motives.
If you are interested in healing, this Full Moon can help with a remarkable intuition regarding disease. Remember, the Scorpio Sun is about regeneration and healing and, when coupled with a Taurus Moon representing the healing powers of Earth, it really can assist you in most healing endeavors.
Healing doesn’t necessarily have to do with the body. It can be the healing of a situation, the cleansing away of negativity, the removal of yourself from an unhealthy relationship, for example. This Full Moon is about ridding yourself of what no longer serves you.
One week later, on Wednesday, October 31st, Mercury moves into Sagittarius at 0:39 a.m. EDT. It creates an atmosphere where the mind is swift and brilliant, but may have a hard time concentrating deeply for very long.
The good news is that, with Jupiter’s influence (it rules Sagittarius), ones judgment is improved and following your hunches can bring positive results. Your intuition will be hard to beat.
For those born with this placement, or influenced by it, will be very honest and won’t intentionally mislead anyone. People can be so truthful that they just say exactly what comes to mind without stopping to think how it might affect other people.
This speaking without pausing can cause them to interrupt themselves and others to relate a thought or idea in the very moment it occurs to them. This can be distressing to others, but the fact is, they really mean no harm – they just don’t stop to think before speaking.
I guess you could say that while this placement is about mental freedom, the lesson is about the timing of your words to others.
Daylight Savings Time is drawing to a close once more. On Sunday, November 4th, at 2:00 a.m. EDT, we fall back one hour into Eastern Standard Time (EST). Lucky us! We get to sleep in an hour!
Uranus, which is one of three remaining retrograde planets, takes another step backward into the sign of Aries on Tuesday, November 8th, at 7:38 a.m. EST.
The energies now change to those that ask us to blaze new trails, to be pioneers, even if only in our own lives. It’s important that we act in our own way; that we dare to be free. It asks us, and helps provide, to have courage, daring, initiative, and resourcefulness.
Being retrograde, people influenced by this energy, may find themselves repeating changes within themselves or their lives that they have been through already in this lifetime or, seeming familiar even though never done in this lifetime, may be from unfinished work in a past lifetime. The goal is to be individualistic, independent, and unique thus freeing oneself of barriers, whether self-imposed or otherwise.
Another message of this placement, retrograde, is to explore all that “society” overlooks and not let anything or anyone impede your progress.
The challenge will be to stay focused and not be distracted by other goals. In order to build the life and future you want, you must stay focused on one goal at a time. Challenging, but also gratifying when accomplished!
May the next two weeks prove to be very interesting and very rewarding.
