New Moon 4th of July

I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned this before, but, even if I have, it’s worth repeating here. Have you noticed the trend over the last couple years of New and Full Moons falling either on or very close to holidays? I know this probably happens more often than we are aware of, but it just seems to be drawing more people’s attention now.

Just recently, we celebrated the Summer Solstice and that same day was the Full Moon. Now here we are, about to celebrate the 4th of July in the USA, with the New Moon occurring the same day. It’s interesting to say the least.

Is the Universe offering us an energetic opportunity to bring about some really intense, long-awaited changes in our lives? Full Moons are an opportunity to “take out the garbage” in our lives. They offer us the chance to rid ourselves of anything (or anyone) that no longer serves a useful purpose in our lives. What was interesting about the last Full Moon is that it happened when the Sun was at its height – a “Full” Sun so to speak. For the last two weeks, the Moon has waned. The Sun is also waning now. When the Moon wanes, it’s a chance to take the energy/power away from something so we can release it. This year, we have the energy of a waning Moon and Sun to do that!

Now comes the actual New Moon – a time for new beginnings – combined with the celebration of freedom and independence. Just like the promise offered by the freedom that was established for our country, we now have those same energies to help us to break free of any situations that are inhibiting our own freedom. How awesome is that?

While you’re celebrating the 4th of July, remember to celebrate the infinite possibilities of freedom that are being offered to you by the energy of this New Moon. (and be sure to watch for New and Full Moons falling on other holidays that might be offering opportunities to clear the path in your journey through Life!)

New Moon in Cancer 2

In the meantime, let’s talk about that New Moon. It will be occurring on Monday, July 4th at 7:01 a.m. EDT. With the Sun and Moon both in Cancer, the imagination is strong, as is the intuition.

Although these energies offer independence and there may be changeableness, there can also be a clinging to old customs and habits. (Go figure.) Perhaps this is due to the inertia created that can produce laziness. For some it may just seem like too much effort to make the changes they actually want.

The Moon rules Cancer so there is an emotional comfortableness offered here. Like the tides that the Moon rules, those influenced by this energy may find themselves going through emotional highs and lows. Neither lasts long.

Moon in Cancer can also cause us to be self-indulgent. The Moon rules the stomach so whether celebrating an emotional high or comforting an emotional low, food may play a big part. Take care not to overindulge in food or drink and cause health problems for yourself.

Moon in Cancer is a domestic, family-oriented energy which may cause a strong desire to spend time with family – more so than usual. Sentimentality can play a part in that.

These are serene, placid energies that can provide contentedness, if we allow it.

Venus in Leo

On Tuesday, July 12th at 1:34 a.m. EDT, Venus will transit into Leo. The energies created here are warm, friendly, and filled with kindliness and heartfelt geniality.

This placement creates energies that draw people to those affected by this transit. Even enemies find it difficult to say anything bad about you. The energies are just that sunny and magnanimous.

Oh, there will be the prima donnas who compete to be the center of attention, but, for the most part, the “drama” will be directed into areas of entertainment – music, art, acting.

This placement can also provide strong will power that will generate personal magnetism. Love itself needs to appeal to ones deeper emotions. No superficiality will do with Venus in Leo.

Mercury in Leo

Mercury will follow Venus into Leo on Wednesday, July 13th at 8:47 p.m. EDT. creating an excellent combination. Mercury rules the mind while Leo rules the heart. This is an unbeatable combination where head and heart will work well together.

Leadership and humanitarianism are highlighted now. Planning and purpose are the keys to taking the lead in any project.

There may be those who get angry when they don’t get there own way or they may tend to be proud and a bit boastful but, over all, the energies are self-confident and sympathetic.
