The year continues to speed by and we are now in Scorpio only about 12 days from Sagittarius. For those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, the green of Nature has given way to bright Fall colors and, now, bare branches as Winter approaches.
There is a cycle to everything, on Earth and in the Heavens. If we readily recognize the effect that the energies from the changing of the seasons has upon us, why are we so hesitant to acknowledge the energies of the movement of the planets?
Perhaps it’s because, while we clearly see and feel the energies that make up the changing of the seasons, the energies created by the movement of the planets and their interaction with each other is much, much more subtle in most cases. One would really have to practice intense awareness to realize when these energies take place by observing their affect upon ourselves (our mood, our health, etc.) and on others as well.
Does this mean we should ignore the fact that these energies do happen and do affect us? No. It means we need to awaken ourselves to ALL the rhythms of the Universe – both those close-at-hand that are clearly visible and those that stretch far into space away from us and are much more subtle. They all matter. They all can be used to create a better life for each of us.
It’s always interesting to watch people when they hear a comet or meteor is passing close to Earth. Will it hit us? Let’s all watch, “holding our breath” and pray for a good outcome. Oh, that we should be that interested or involved in the passage of the Sun, the Moon or any of the other planets into, let’s say, Scorpio – the sign of death, rebirth, transformation. This is a sign that can intensify our emotions, increase our intuition, and yet also cause us to be secretive, suspicious, and even jealous. Depending on the sign you were born under and where your planets are located by sign and house, these energies could affect the way you respond to the people in your life and the situations you encounter. Few people think about this though and even fewer care, believing it all to be pure fiction, that anything that doesn’t reside on Earth could have that kind of affect on us.
This kind of information can make a big difference on how you step out your front door and meet Life each day, if used wisely. Why would you not want to use all the information available to make your life easier, more productive and more abundant? I guess I may never have the answer to that one.
In this harvest season, when we are about to give thanks for all we have, remember that there is a wealth of valuable information for you to reap the benefits of, any time you so desire, and it’s called astrology.
New Moons always mean new beginnings for those who want to take advantage of the energy provided by them. This New Moon will be happening in the sign of Scorpio on Wednesday, November 11th at 12:47 p.m. EST.
Moon in Scorpio creates a phenomenal memory that can be a real two-edged sword. On one hand, being able to remember appointments and other important information is an asset. On the other hand, if the memories are ones that are not so pleasant from childhood, then this placement may cause you to deal with scars that have been in your psyche for quite some time. Perhaps it’s time though and the energies of this placement will help you with that.
With the Sun and Moon both in Scorpio, a new beginning in independence and self-reliance could be in the offing for you. A balance between mastery of self and an iron-will needs to be found. You want to stand on your own, but not override or dominant others.
For those interested in the mysterious, Scorpio easily takes us into those realms. It can be an excellent time to practice any form of divination or investigate any subject dealing with the hidden side of life.
There is a dark side to Scorpio though and it’s good to guard against moodiness as well as jealousy, suspicions and secrets that could cause problems if revealed.
Scorpio has a lot to offer in opportunities and a lot to reveal to us, if we are open to it.
Mars moves into Libra on Thursday, November 12th at 4:41 p.m. EST bringing possible conflict between independence and supportive people as one responds to the strong sense of fairness evoked by this placement.
To avoid loneliness, those affected by these energies will channel their energies into partnerships of all kinds. The energy of Mars in Libra will cause those feeling these energies to take the initiative in forming new alliances, even if they are only short-term.
Speaking of energy, your personal energy may fluctuate during this transit. It all depends on your personal planetary placements. So, if all of a sudden you feel rather lazy, it may just be Mars in Libra causing it. Give it a moment or two and you may have a surge of energy – this too is Mars in Libra.
Lots of possibilities exist here for finding balance, harmony and being social during this transit.
Neptune has been in Pisces since June of 2011 and has been retrograde, this time, since June 12, 2015. Neptune will now turn direct on Wednesday, November 18th at 11:32 a.m. EST. Since Neptune is also the ruler of Pisces, these energies are very spiritual and the retrograde motion has provided us with the energies to take a good look at the spiritual side of our lives.
Knowing that our energy ripples out and affects the whole, as individuals, this retrograde of Neptune afforded us the time to sort out that which is real in terms of our ideals and that which appears to fulfill our dreams. By doing so, we benefit ourselves, but also the world as well.
Neptune represents spirituality, but also represents sensitivity and understanding. This retrograde offered us the opportunity to understand ourselves better by ferreting out the fraud and deceit that we have allowed to be lead away from the truth of our purpose, our journey and our ideal. This was a time of turning inward to the spiritual side of ourselves.
Now that Neptune is finally turning direct, the question we must all ask ourselves is what did we learn? For this is the energy and information that we can now use, both internally and externally, to bring more of a sense of the spiritual into our world.
Neptune in Pisces is calling the world to face its illusions about spirituality, values and all things mysterious. We are a part of that world. How can we now add our energies to improve our personal world and the world at large?
Mercury will be entering Sagittarius on Friday, November 20th, at 2:44 p.m. EST. The energy of this placement makes the mind swift and brilliant. It draws our thoughts to such matters as religion, philosophy, law, or other studies related to higher education. Memory may not be at its best now and ideas may be disconnected.
You may find yourself more concerned with attitudes rather than facts. Don’t lose sight of the truth of any situation because of disregard for information.
Prophetic ability is increased here and people are more honest, unwilling to purposely mislead others. People can be very forthright now and, in their effort to be honest, may say whatever comes into their minds without pausing to consider the effects it may cause on others. They would never deliberately hurt someone. If they do, even unintentionally, they regret it.
Communication during this transit will be short and breezy. If you are a writer, short stories may work better for you at this time. For some, the result of writing a letter will be more like a telegram.
Not an excellent, but an interesting, placement for Mercury.
And then, we have the Sun moving into Sagittarius on Sunday, November 22nd at 10:26 a.m. EST.
Jupiter is the ruling planet here and Jupiter is about expansion. Like the centaur (symbol of Sagittarius) shooting his arrow for great heights, aspiration is key. Aim high!
Sagittarius is a fire sign so there is a lot of enthusiasm and energy here. Adaptability and self-expression are also strong characteristics of Sagittarius.
Sagittarius energy is friendly, outgoing, open-minded, optimistic, encouraging, jovial, and freedom-loving. The other side of the coin is that they can also be tactless, irresponsible, arrogant and capricious. Sometimes they really need to get off their “high horse” in order to implement the positive traits of this sign.
Part of the Sagittarian fire is restlessness. If you feel the need for change and movement, if there’s an itch to travel, it’s only the energies of the Sun in Sagittarius trying to get you to expand your horizons on your way to some form of success. This might also explain the need for independence and the lack of endurance for any form of restriction. Time to bend or even break the rules on the journey to self-improvement and/or learning.
To all those who celebrate a birthday now –
I’ll be back in two weeks with a more in-depth look at Sagittarians. In the meantime, don’t miss the Taurids meteor shower on Thursday, November 12th and the Leonids meteor shower on Tuesday, November 17th!!!
