Astrological Musings & More

Astrology 6I wanted to get this out to you because there’s something really lucky happening tomorrow – Thursday, July 24th. Normally, I don’t talk about the planetary aspects that are happening but this one….well, I just had to let you know! Jupiter and the Sun, both of which are in Leo right now, will form a conjunction at 4:44 p.m. EDT tomorrow.

What does that mean? Well, let’s break it down and take a look at it. The Sun, the symbol of power, vitality, confidence and success – to mention just a few of its traits – is in its home sign of Leo, which burns with enthusiasm and is also creative and expansive. Then there’s Jupiter, the largest planet in our solar system, which not only also deals with expansion and enthusiasm, but also with spontaneity and the urge to improve the state of things that has now taken up residence in the sign of Leo, increasing the magnifying powers of this benevolent planet. Oh, and one last “perk” to this day is that it’s happening on Thursday which is ruled by Jupiter!

Tomorrow all this wondrous positive energy comes together in the exact same degree -which actually has already begun as they approach each other – and creates a field of energy where ANYTHING is possible, if we but take the time to focus on it and feel the joy of receiving it! Call it Christmas in July or that you’re being granted one, if not three wishes!!! Who wouldn’t want to take advantage of this opportunity to create positive change and manifest your heart’s desire with the help of the Sun and Jupiter?

Knowing that we are still on waning side of the Moon, I will be using this energy to “bulldoze” obstacles from my path that are holding me back or blocking me from receiving the flow of abundance from the Universe, but you can use it for anything positive – finding a job, a new home, getting a raise, finding that certain someone, healing, etc. The choice is yours!

Here’s to all of us creating something wonderful with this energy!!!

Mars in ScorpioSince I am posting this a little early, I wanted to remind you that on Friday, July 25th, at 10:25 a.m. EDT Mars moves into Scorpio giving those affected by it tremendous potential to do good or harm. Yes, this is a very potent placement. Mars co-rules Scorpio along with Pluto and the sign of death, rebirth and transformation provides energies that, when coupled with the forcefulness of Mars, can do just about anything!

Emotions are intense. Intuition is strong, as is psychic abilities. This is a great time for working positive magick and for creative visualization.

There may be insatiable sexual desire that really equates to a desire for understanding. The real turn-on will be for someone to take the time to really get to know and understand you on a mental, emotional, and physical level.

You may find yourself intensely desiring to see everything there is to see and do everything there is to do. This may manifest in such ways as travel, reading or expanding your social circle.

It is also during this time that your life purpose may reveal itself. Whether it’s resolving heavy-duty karma or learning through life experiences, being aware right now may give you clues to where the road is leading you.

New Moon in LeoThen on Saturday, July 26th, there will be a New Moon occurring at 6:42 p.m. EDT. This means the Sun and the Moon are both in Leo creating energies of an independent nature. Although people will be kind-hearted and generous, there may be a certain amount of self-centeredness and pride.

The key to understanding those affected by these energies is to recognize that there is a need for romance and affection along with being admired and appreciated.

This New Moon in Leo brings to all of us the opportunity to recognize how limitless we are. This is a time that offers ambition, resourcefulness, vitality, and enthusiasm. It’s a time to learn leadership, even if it’s only being the leaders of our own lives.

Delta AquaridsThe Delta Aquarids meteor shower started on July 12th and will continue in the skies until Aug 23rd. The peak is considered to happen on Tuesday, July 29th with the Southern Hemisphere having the best view of it with 15 to 20 meteors per hour crossing the heavens.

For those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, the peak won’t actually happen until about August 13th or 14th when we will see about 10 meteors per hour.
You can see this happening in the southern to southeastern sky close to the Aquarius constellation. The occurrence of the New Moon certainly will aid those who wish to see this event. Be sure to start looking after midnight.

Mercury in LeoMercury will join the Sun and Jupiter in Leo on Thursday, July 31st, at 6:46 p.m. EDT. This is really an excellent position for Mercury with it ruling the mind and Leo ruling the heart. It creates the energy of the human touch as well as a sound, impressive intellect. I’d say that’s rather unbeatable!

The energy of this placement can give mental confidence and also add to ones personal charisma. Whether you are a speaker, a writer, or an actor, your work/performance will be much appreciated and admired by others now.

Mercury in Leo gives continuity of planning and purpose as well as an ability to teach and work the mental development of children.

The only hindrance may be a tendency to anger when doesn’t get ones own way. It’s not long lasting, but something to watch for to avoid any unpleasantness.

Well, that’s it for now. Wishing you a wonderful, lucky Sun/Jupiter conjunction!
