I woke up this morning with the song, “The Age of Aquarius” by the Fifth Dimension in my head. I was 21, in 1969, when that song became so popular. I always wondered about the meaning of the words:
“When the moon is in the Seventh House And Jupiter aligns with Mars Then peace will guide the planets And love will steer the stars.”
Truth be told, the Moon transit’s the seventh house of the natural zodiac every day for about two hours. As for Jupiter aligning with Mars, that happens fairly frequently. As to the whole lyric, well, there was an alignment of Jupiter and Mars, both in Aquarius, with the Moon in Libra and in the seventh house on February 16, 2009. Obviously, there was no increase in peace to guide the planets or love to steer the stars – any more than usual. It was just another day.
For the Hippie generation, who were in love with love, the song provided hope. Many of us, who are still around, still have that hope. Even though there is no planetary positioning that guarantee peace and love, it still would be nice for:
“Harmony and understanding Sympathy and trust abounding No more falsehoods or derisions Golden living dreams of visions Mystic crystal revelation And the mind’s true liberation”
For me, although it is always nice to have the energy of the stars and planets working in your favor, I recognize that it lies with each of us to create our own peace and spread love wherever we go. That does ripple out, but it does begin with each of us first.
And speaking of planetary positioning, there will be a Full Moon in Scorpio on Wednesday, May 14th at 3:16 p.m. EDT
When you combine a Taurus Sun with a Scorpio Moon you get energies that create strong feelings. Jealousy, pride, even anger all need curbing along with appetites.
This Full Moon can evoke self-esteem but take care to avoid it tipping into vanity. These energies may also create success if one uses determination and self-reliance.
If any combination can provide practical mysticism, this would be it! While Scorpio provides the energies for the occult, mystical, psychic side of life, Taurus energies will look to see how these can be used in a practical manner and possibly even to create financial abundance. Hmmm…something to think about.
Pagans for Peace has been advocating for people to join them on the Full Moon and burn a white candle for the purpose of invoking and evoking peace around the world. Join them, won’t you? I will be.
Mars in Libra, which has been retrograde since March 2nd, will now turn direct on Monday, May 19th at 9:31 p.m. EDT.
When retrograde, Mars in Libra creates the lessons concerning learning who we are while considering all we think we could be.
The lesson, as usual with Libra, is about finding balance and harmony. This time its about finding that harmony and balance between who we really are and all the input, wishes and desires of others.
The need is to avoid creating a personal limbo for ourselves and/or an emotional/psychological paralysis toward our external environment.
If you have experienced any of this during the retrograde of Mars, then the insight you gained can now be carried forward as Mars turns direct. Now, when faced with two choices, you will choose more easily.
While Libra is social and definitely about partnerships, the fairness that Libra seeks needs to extend to oneself as well as to others.
The Sun moves into Gemini on Tuesday, May 20th at 10:59 p.m. EDT. So, even if you weren’t born under this sign, you may find the dual nature of the sign poking its head up in some area of your life.
Ruled by Mercury, Gemini is very versatile and logical with a restless intelligence that can cause one to be very talkative.
These are energies that are very spontaneous and adaptable. It creates an excellent atmosphere for communications of all types, especially writing, and for travel.
Geminis themselves have, more often than not, two distinct personalities. You may only ever see one of those personalities, but there usually a second one, even if it’s kept hidden inside.
Oh, and the “down” side? Well, watch for nervousness, inconsistency, and being superficial. But, hey!, the wit of Gemini can change those energies as quick as you can snap your fingers!
To all those Geminis out there….
Until we meet again, may your personal “garden” flower and bloom with abundance!!!
