It’s amazing! As we rush towards the end of our calendar year, it seems the planets have decided to increase their celestial dance, taking new positions to form new energies for the coming holidays.
Having said that, prepare yourself…There are some real opportunities for new beginnings starting to take shape.
It all begins with that time of the year when we are reminded to “fall back”. At 2:00 a.m. EDT on Sunday, November 3rd, remember to turn your clock back one hour as standard time returns.
Ahhh…what a blessing! An extra hour of sleep for one and all!!!
This is then followed by the New Moon, which occurs in Scorpio, on Sunday, November 3rd at 7:50 a.m. EST
With the Sun and Moon both in Scorpio, a partial solar eclipse will be seen at sunrise across eastern North America. A total eclipse will only be visible off the coast of eastern Florida.
I don’t know if other astrologers would agree with me, but I have always viewed an eclipse as a time to put an end to unwanted energies, especially those that may be impeding my progress. With this one happening in Scorpio, you might consider the negative traits of that sign to see if any of them needing discarding from your energy field. These can include jealousy, vengefulness, resentment, stubbornness, suspicion, quick-temper, or self-indulgence.
There are a fair amount of positive Scorpio traits that you might want to fill the gap left by the dismissal of the negative ones. Such things as creative imagination, intuition, healing power, persistence, and determination are energies for your consideration.
The general energies of having the Sun and Moon both in Scorpio can give much independence and self-reliance. One does have to be careful of not becoming too materialistic during this time or becoming too domineering toward others.
With Scorpio’s ruler, Pluto, in Capricorn right now, many lessons may be presented to each of us concerning both the positive and negative characteristic traits of Scorpio energy. Be open to learning them as they could present you with the very opportunity for a new beginning you’ve been waiting for!
Named after the constellation of Taurus and can be seen in the eastern sky. This shower should produce about 15 meteors per hour and reach its peak on the night of November 11th -12th.
If you believe in “wishing on a star,” here’s your chance! The New Moon provides energies for new beginnings and this Taurid meteor shower provides the energies of Taurus to help you in areas of health, wealth, and love.! Happy star-gazing!
This is a sign whose energies are more mature. Combining it with Venus, planet of love, may cause some to shift their perception of love in their lives to a more practical, wise outlook.
There can be some ill-effects of these energies, though. It can cause you to become suspicious of others’ motives and even become touchy about other people’s opinions of you. This is only due to a fear of refusal/rejection.
This may also be a time when you find you prefer staying home to a lot of social life and parties.
While Jupiter in Cancer tends to make us value emotional security, safety and protection, it can create a conflict between Cancer’s lack of desire for broadening ones horizons and Jupiter’s thirst for more knowledge through learning and travel. Then there’s the conflict between Jupiter’s fiery tendency to express outward, especially anger, and Cancer’s tendency to hold in or hold back.
I point these clashes out only because, with Jupiter turning retrograde, lessons may come your way that deal with one or all of these issues. After all, that’s what retrogrades do – bring energy back to us for us to learn and grow.
One other thing for your consideration, Jupiter in Cancer retrograde pushes things backward into the past…your past lives to be exact. It could be that this will be the time when all of knowledge acquired in the higher mind in past lives will be tested on an emotional level. The lesson? To learn to faithfully believe in and act upon your own personal truths. That’s truly an awesome lesson for spiritual growth!
If you took the time, during the retrograde, to heal, regenerate and even do some rebirthing, you may see the world differently now. Mercury in Scorpio does make the mind sharp and give remarkably clear vision and foresight. Does the world look more HD to you?
This new energy could cause you to fight for a noble cause or investigate the mysteries of the Universe. In the dark of the year, you may find your intuition and psychic abilities have increased.
Don’t worry though. If you let the retrograde slip by without using its energies, Mercury in Scorpio is still a very healing energy for any situation in your life. Just remember to take a good look at your motives and intentions, especially before communicating with others.
As I said when the retrograde happened in June: “Neptune is about illusion and many of us suffer from illusions along with large doses of denial and evading what we find too painful to face. Neptune in Pisces, especially retrograde, offers us the opportunity to break the illusions, wipe away the negative fantasies, and truly deal with the problems facing us – both as individuals and as residents of Planet Earth.”
Whenever Neptune is in Pisces, and even more so when it’s retrograde, we have the opportunity to experience unprecedented inspiration in the spiritual realms and the artistic realms as well. Or, we can choose to swim with the other Piscean fish, become greatly disillusioned, experiencing pain as our beliefs are eroded and undermined. The choice is always ours.
The one great truth about Neptune in Pisces is that we do eventually realize that the answers we seek were never in the outside world. They have always been within each of us.
We are in some pretty awesome vibrational times! The healer and magician that resides in each of us should be allowed the opportunity to use these energies for the healing of our own bodies, minds, and lives, but also to help others do the same.
May peace, love and prosperity be yours…
