When I used to read Tarot in public, it didn’t take long for me to figure out that the majority of people who came to me had questions that fell into one of three categories: Love, Money, or Health. When you stop to think about it, isn’t that mostly what Life is about? Will I find the right person to love and be loved by? Will I win the lottery? Or…is there a job for me that will pay well? I (or someone close to you) haven’t been feeling well, should I worry? As a reader, you quickly learn to anticipate these in the readings you do.
Should an astrologer (no matter what their astrological specialty) expect any less? We all want to be loved; we all want to at least live comfortably; and we all want to know that our health, and the health of those we love, is sound. The difference between a Tarot reading and, let’s say, a Natal Astrology chart is that, while a Tarot reading may reveal to you energies that you are currently engaged in and where they are leading you, your natal chart shows you your “tool box” and gives you an idea of what you can build with it in this lifetime.
In either one, you remain the Master of your Destiny. You can choose to act on what is revealed in the card reading or you can choose to disbelieve what you have been told and do nothing. You can read your natal chart and see the energetic pluses and minuses spelled out, then decide your best course of action or you can lay it aside disbelieving that any of it pertains to you. Neither avenue of revelation is a doctrine of fatalism because the choice is always yours what to believe or not believe and what actions to take or to take no action at all.
But what if you do want to understand your natal chart? What if you want to use the energies you surrounded yourself with at birth to your best advantage? Where would you find the information about your health? What houses, what planets, what signs would assist you in understanding your strengths and weaknesses in this area of your life?
Each house of your chart represents a particular part of your body, but for health, specifically, you would first turn to the 6th house. This house is defined as representing sickness, hygiene, food, and also service, work, and small animals. The part of the body it specifically denotes is the solar plexus and the bowels. Its natural ruler is Virgo – a mutable earth sign ruled by the planet Mercury.
So you go to your chart map, look at the 6th house and look to see what sign is on the cusp of that house. In the charts I do for people, you would turn to that information and read it. Then consider what planet rules that sign and read all the information about that planet – what sign and house it is in and what planets aspect it. You might next want to check out what house has Virgo on its cusp and read that house information. Bits and pieces of information should now be piling up for your consideration.
When looking specifically to a planet for matters concerning your health, if you are a male, look to the Sun and, if you are female, look to the Moon. Once again, you read the house it occupies, the sign it’s in and any aspects formed between it and other planets.
As you can begin to see, there is a great deal of information in ones natal chart that can help you to understand the energies concerning health in this lifetime: where you need to take special care, where you are strong, particular ailments you may be prone to, etc.
Unlike many other astrologers, I give you all the pieces, but what they truly mean to you is yours to consider and think about. My feeling is that since I neither live inside you head nor have I lived your life, what these “pieces” add up to (mean) is solely something you must determine for yourself through reading the material, thinking about its possible meaning for you and discussing it with others, myself included.
If you truly seek the answers to questions concerning your health, love life, or finances, or if you just wish to make the most of this lifetime and all the “tools” you’ve given yourself, then I highly recommend having your chart done and delving into that being called “You”. You’ll be glad you did…honest!
This isn’t just your regular Full Moon. An eclipse will occur that will be seen, in its entirety, in Eastern Canada, Europe and Africa. The eclipse will already be in progress when moonrise takes place here in the USA.
Just because you may not see it, doesn’t mean you’re able to feel the energy of this Lunar Eclipse. Just as the Moon becomes shadowed by the Earth passing between it and the Sun, the energies of a Lunar Eclipse can offer us a time to take a look at our own “shadows”. With the Moon in Aries, perhaps it is fear that needs to be looked at. After all, Aries represents courage and assertiveness. Have you been allowing fear to cast its shadow over your life and hold you back from the life you really want to live?
Aries, no matter what planet occupies it, offers us the opportunity to begin anew; to blaze a new trail; to take a new look at life from the perspective of that planet. In this case, we’re talking about the Moon and that, primarily, means our emotions. This Full Moon may be the opportunity you’ve been waiting on to quit wasting energy fearing people, situations and/or things and just “feel the fear and do it anyway”! Talking about it will definitely help and a Full Moon in Aries will even help with that. So seek out those you feel most comfortable with and release that energy of fear through conversation. Along with a new beginning, you may receive some new perspectives from those who are listening to what you have to say!
Mercury, which is currently in Scorpio, will turn retrograde on Monday, October 21st at 6:29 a.m. EDT perhaps causing restlessness that has its roots in a forgotten past life. There may also be worry and fear that you can’t quite put your finger on the reason why.
Both the manner of communicating with others and even ones thinking may be impractical, rash or impulsive, stemming from past life experiences. Attached to that are the energies of confusion and chaos that may arise during this retrograde transit of Mercury.
The answer? Focus on your motives and intentions when communicating with others. Take time, take a breath, and be clear in expressing yourself.
Remember, Scorpio is about deep self-healing and also rebirth. These are powerful energies to aide you where your thoughts and the expression of them are concerned.
And then, the Sun moves into Scorpio on Wednesday, October 23rd at 2:10 a.m. EDT. Ruled by both assertive Mars and Pluto with its intense desires, this fixed water sign can be unstable and emotional at times. The energies of Scorpio are imaginative, persistent and determined, but can also be secretive, resentful, suspicious and jealous.
Scorpio is also very psychic and, depending on what level of Scorpio energy you draw from – serpent, scorpion, soaring eagle or even phoenix – those psychic energies can be a great aid or a source of fear.
Scorpio energy is regenerative, but most of the time that regeneration comes through suffering. Living life intensely is what Scorpio is all about. They could do it no other way and be satisfied!
So, to all of you who were born under the sign of Scorpio with all your intensity and personal magnetism, I say….
Just a little blurb here about one of my favorite holidays coming up on Thursday, October 31st. Whether you call it Halloween, Hallowmas, Samhain, or All Hallow’s, it is a time when the Veil between this world and the next is thinnest. We have the opportunity to commune with loved ones who have crossed the Bridge of Light, celebrating with merriment in costume, at parties or even just handing “treats” to the little “tricksters” who come calling. I’ll be celebrating with some friends in Circle, saying “Hello.” to some departed friends and family. However, you celebrate, or even if you don’t, I wish you a wonderful day!
May you find many things to be grateful for this, and every, day!
