Have you heard about the possibility of two visible Suns in our skies this year? It’s really very interesting.
Betelgeuse, the brightest star in our nighttime sky is losing mass and is therefore collapsing. This means it will eventually become a super nova. When that happens, we could have a second Sun appear in our skies for at least a few weeks.
Here’s the thing…even though it could happen as early as this year, it could also take as long as 100,000 years. With all the cool astronomical/astrological stuff happening this year, this would just be icing on the cake!
Some of the results of this happening, for us here on Earth, is that there may be no nighttime for a while and we may also be showered with particles from the supernova. These particles are harmless and consist of things like gold, silver and even uranium.
The supernova could also create a black hole or neutrino star that would only be 1300 light years from Earth! Fascinating!
If you count your New Moons by the sign they’re in, then you could actually say that this particular New Moon only lasts a couple of hours as the Moon will change signs, to Cancer, at 1:34 p.m. However, a New Moon is a New Moon and a time for new beginnings!
With the Sun and the Moon both in Gemini, this is an excellent time for all things ruled by Mercury – particularly those things considered intellectual. So, if there’s a journal you’ve been meaning to start or some other writing project that’s been sitting on the back burner for way too long, now’s the time to begin. In fact any type of creative work would be highlighted now with the imagination heightened by the Moon and Sun.
Mercury also rules travel and the New Moon offers the opportunity to begin that long intended journey – even if it’s a journey inward.
Take advantage of all this New Moon is offering!
Known as the Summer Solstice, it’s the time when the Sun has reached its zenith and the longest day is experienced. Once that happens, the days grow shorter until we reach the Winter Solstice.
Sun in Cancer can provide energies that make us emotionally vulnerable, yet we tend to repress those emotions. “Suffering in silence” is a bumper sticker for those of us who are affected by these energies. We just can’t seem to find our voices and say what’s in our hearts. Therein lies the lesson of this sign and its energies. It’s imperative for our health and well-being that we do just exactly that. Here’s our opportunity.
This can also be a very psychic time. Intuition is heightened and if you’ve been waiting for a sign concerning a question you have…pay attention, it may present itself now.
The restlessness of these energies can tend to make one moody, crabby, if you will. If you find yourself heading in that direction during this transit, use your imagination to take you to places that make you smile, laugh, and celebrate life.
There is still much to learn about relationships and how human cooperation is so very necessary to accomplish anything of lasting value. Then there’s the lesson of our responsibility in any given relationship, no matter whether it’s intimate, familial, business, or social.
During this time, contracts of all types and agreements become a vehicle for learning some of the lessons connected to relationships and partnerships. Enter each one with eyes wide open and complete clarity of communication so that all parties understand to what they are agreeing.
Much can be learned by us all about our interconnectedness and how we truly are all one people with Saturn in Libra!
This is excellent energy for public speaking, writing, singing or acting. If you’re not really a performer, you may find that you have good leadership skills to plan an event.
Mercury in Leo is also very positive for tackling and solving problems. If there’s something you haven’t quite been able to find the answer for, now may be the time to search for that answer just once more. These energies could lead you to the answer!
Venus in Gemini has been retrograde since May 15th. On Wednesday, June 27th, at 11:07 a.m. EDT, Venus will turn direct.
This very long transit of Venus through Gemini, both backward and forward, seems to really be giving us the opportunity to realize that thinking about love and feeling it are two different things.
If you are someone who has trouble expressing your feelings, finding it easier to intellectualize them, then the combination of Venus in Gemini with the Sun in Cancer is calling you to relearn the childlike joy of living, loving and laughing!
Summer’s finally here. Take time for yourself (and your inner child) to warm your face in its glow, smell the fresh air and just enjoy the magnificence of life and Nature all around you!
Until next time…
