Virgo is very good for intellectual pursuits and for matters pertaining to business. If you’ve been waiting for that perfect time to deal with any task that requires attention to detail, your time has arrived! This can be a business matter, a creative matter or even something related to your health and well-being (another area Virgo energies rule). So don’t hesitate to use the energies of this Full Moon to complete the tasks you’ve been putting off.
Spring has finally arrived! With the passage of the Sun into Aries on Sunday, March 20th, at 7:21 p.m. EDT we celebrate the Vernal Equinox and the balance of day and night. For those of us who are more than a little tired of the cold, it also means the warming of the Earth, and us, by that very same Sun. Mother Nature will now spread her colorful Springtime gown across much of the northern hemisphere of our planet. YAY!
The energies of the Sun entering and transiting Aries are the best ones for planting seeds for new growth, both in our gardens and in our lives. This energy is forceful and rushing forward. It is prime energy for beginning new projects and/or making major changes in ones life. This is a time of boldness. A time to, without hesitation, take that giant step forward into the “new” – whatever that new may be for you.
To all of those born at this time of the year,
One week later, on Sunday, March 27th, Venus will enter Pisces at 2:53 a.m. EDT.
This is one of the finest places for Venus to be. The energies are idealistic and loving. For those of us who choose to use them, this can be a time that provides an unequaled capacity for dedication and self-sacrifice. Intuition is heightened allowing us to instinctively be considerate of others. What is done now for others, is done quietly – without show or need for thanks.
One drawback to these energies is the sensitivity to others suffering. This can cause people to take advantage of each other. For this reason, this is a time when discrimination is needed most.
This is also a time when it is most easy to get ones feelings hurt and feel rejected. This offers us the chance to develop emotional independence, now only for ourselves but for those who might become – or already are – emotionally dependent on us.
If you are an artist of any creative form, this is an excellent position for expressing yourself in your chosen art form.
Overall, this is a beautiful, sensitive time.
Because Aries causes Mercury to rush forward impulsively without stopping to think, this can be a time of poor judgment. The energies of this combination still allow those affected by them to be strong debaters who enjoy the challenge of mental stimulation. The drawback is that it can leave some of us out of time sequence with those we try to communicate with.
Because retrograde motion of any planet can bring us lessons from past lives – or even earlier in this life, this retrograde of Mercury in Aries can cause us to re-experience things we have already lived through, showing us why we may dislike repeating actions or words in our current life experience.
Aries is always about the opportunity to start anew. Here, is an opportunity to observe energies coming back to you that could give clues to any problems in communication or travel (and that includes your “travel” along the path of this life). Being aware now could reveal those things that have become stumbling blocks or slowed your progress to where you would really like your life to express itself.
Take advantage of the energies of this retrograde. You may be surprised what is revealed at this time.
At a time in our world when there is so much loss and suffering, laughter and fun may seem out of place to some, but really needed in vast quantities.
April Fool’s Day, sometimes referred to as All Fool’s Day, is celebrated on April 1st each year in the USA. Although it’s not an official holiday, you will always find it noted on each year’s calendar.
The history of this day is unclear, but the closest point in time that could be claimed as the beginning is 1582 in France. Prior to that time, the new year was celebrated for eight days beginning on March 25th. If you do the math, you find that the eighth day is April 1st.
When the Gregorian calendar was introduced under the reign of Charles IX, New Year’s was moved to January 1st.
News traveled slow in those days and many knew nothing about it for several years. Others refused to give up the old celebration and began to be referred to as “fools” by the general populace. They were often made fun of and made the butt of many a practical joke.
In our day, practical jokes are still practiced – some simple, some elaborate – on our unsuspecting friends and family. No one gets off work or school. No gifts are bought or costumes worn, but it is a day to remind us that life should be filled with joy and merriment. No joke.
Anytime a planet can be found in its home sign – the sign that it rules – there will be a lot of power connected to that placement and time.
Mars in Aries is filled with energy, although lacking stick-to-itiveness. Those affected by this transit of Mars may find themselves being impulsive – leaping before they look. There is also a tendency to take on too much and end up with too many irons in the fire to handle.
These energies can create flared tempers and rashness.
Do be careful of possible injuries to the head or catching a head cold. Mars in Aries can make one vulnerable in these areas.
It’s not all bad though, there is all that energy. If you will take the time to think before rushing into something, recognize that there are limits to how much you can reasonably do and practice patience with yourself and others, you could accomplish great things while Mars transits Aries.
